Well, Ashlyn is Four years old now, finishing up her first year of Pre-School. She’s getting a little bored with it now, but she’ll have the summer off and start again in the fall. She’s doing great, growing up fast, thanks to Hannah Montana, and Zack and Cody. But, she’s doing very well, I miss her everyday that I’m at work. Thankfully I get to be at home with her every night. Last night she asked me to put Braelyn to bed so she could have “Mommy Time”, then she said, when I’m done with mommy, I want to snuggle Daddy. That worked for me!

Braelyn on the other is doing well, but for the last two days she has been hoarse. She seems fine, no fever, no excessive crying, no restlessness, but she sounds so pitiful when she cries, and coos. She went to the Dr. a few weeks ago and had to have some shots, but she is a little under weight but right on schedule with her length. If her voice is no better by tomorrow we’ll make a trip to the doctor again just to be sure she’s not getting sick.

Right now we feel confident that it is allergies but we don’t want her to be in any pain, so we’re watching very closely.

Happy Birthday to my sweet Baby Doll. Ashlyn is 4 years old today. At this moment in time four years ago Lori and I were in the labor room, I believe she had just received the epidural. At 6:35 tonight Ashlyn will be ushered in to her 4^th year with prayer with her mommy and Daddy.

We made it a point to pray with her at the exact moment she was born every year. So far we’ve done pretty good. She is amazing, she can light up a room, and can bring a smile to even the hardest heart.

Doc just came in. Wants Lori to rest as much as possible until time to push. She is 100% effaced, & dialted 6 cm. Can't have many visitors for a while.

Just had to give Lori some ephedrine to raise her BP. It dropped again. She is resting through it though.

They were going to give it to her earlier but it corrected itself. This time her BP has been low for around 20 minutes.

Here's the run down.

Around 7:45 a.m. nurse tried to start IV. Lori BP dropped, had to wait for it to return to normal. IV started.

Dr. Shine just came in to check everything, started the oxyTOCIN. Tried to break her water, but couldn't.

Lori and Baby are fine right now. Just waiting for now.

From my last few posts you know now that we are going to the doc every two weeks, The baby is fine, heart beat sounds good and strong. Lori is doing well, too, her main two problems are swelling (feet), and exhaustion. She has been extremely tired, but she does have bursts of energy. especially when Ashlyn pees in the bed, or throws up in the bed. Talk about a wake up call.
Ashlyn had the flu a few weeks ago and is still dealing with the aftermath of that. I took her to the doc yesterday with an ear infection, and chest congestion. Antibiotics and time is what the doc said.
As for me, I think I have a sinus infection or at least the start of one. Maybe we can get all of this behind us before the baby comes.

This is what the baby MAY look like. Tomorrow marks 13 weeks of our pregnancy. Lori is at that stage where everything is "awkward", she is still very tired, and has morning sickness quite often. She is excited, I'm excited, and Ashlyn ONLY wants a baby sister.

Good morning!

We go back to the Doctor this coming Tuesday. We should get to see him this time. For some reason I feel an uneasiness about the visit but I’m excited at the same time.

It’s still too early to find out the gender of the baby, but we should get to hear the heartbeat again. As far as Lori is concerned, she is doing okay. Her biggest enemy is fatigue. There are evening when she sleeps off to bed around 7 or 8 o’clock. At first it upset me a little, you must understand she didn’t have this problem with Ashlyn, but I’ve accepted that this pregnancy is different and I can understand why she wants to lay down so early.

Ashlyn was very restless Wednesday night into Thursday morning. She ended up in bed with us, but acted like she was getting sick. When she finally answered us she said her feet were hurting. So we assume it may be growing pains, or at least we hope that’s what it is. My mom and dad offered to keep her last night so we could get some rest/sleep. We took them up on the offer. I think Lori was in bed around 8:30 or 9:00 and I was right behind her around 9:30 p.m. We both slept until 7:00 this morning.

One of us will let you know how the appointment goes tomorrow.

At my computer this morning I began to think "What is so special about today?" I thought for a moment then, it hit me.

9 Years ago today I was working at the church trying to fix our light, then I saw her. You see it was a workday at Bays Mountain, the ladies were in the fellowship hall and the men were doing other things. So I got a friend to scope out the situation. After he gave me the go ahead, I asked Lori out to see a movie.

I picked her up at her house, and drove to West Towne Mall to see "Keeping the Faith". A little less than a month later we started dating, a year after that we were engaged, and another year+ we were married. The rest as they say is History.

Just to update you on the pregnancy, Lori is doing good, her morning sickness is subsiding. She had been getting sick almost daily and all day long. Now it is just periodically, but her biggest problem now is Fatigue. She is literally tired all the time.

Hopefully this weekend will help, you see we're getting away from everything this weekend, just Lori, Ashlyn and me.

New Baby

Hello everyone! I cannot tell you how excited I am about the new baby. The Lord has truly blessed us. Ashlyn is excited. I am nervous though. I haven’t been to my doctor yet and it seems like it has taken forever for March 5^th to get here. Now it is just 4 days away and I’m excited. The one question that probably gets on my nerves the most is “Are you happy/excited?” Of course I’m excited and happy. This is a precious child that I’m blessed to carry. Just thinking about everything about this baby is being formed in my womb: the face, ears, hands, nose, toes, hair. It is truly amazing and an amazing feeling. Another question that kind of gets on my nerves is “What are you hoping for?”. Well if you know my family you know we all hope for a boy, but we will be happy no matter the sex of the baby as long as they are healthy. I will try to keep the blog updated as the pregnancy moves along.

hey everyone! From Pensacola now. Its about 11:30 p.m. now and I am TIRED! We've been up since 6:30 a.m. and have been all over it seems like. We had my uncle Steve's funeral today at around 2, I had the GREAT opportunity to preach to my family and many of their friends. I preached about the Measure of God's mercy. It waqs a blessing to get to see everyone again. But it has been terrible without Lori and Ashlyn. If you noticed, there is a new picture posted. Lori and I are expecting another baby. I am praying for a little boy, but will be happy with what the Lord gives us. We have been praying for another baby since late last year, and it seemed to take forever, but finally we got a positive. I will give more info when I have more.

We're supposed to leave for home in the morning. I am so ready to see Ashlyn and Lori! I have missed them soo much. Talk to you soon.

A few weeks ago Lori, Ashlyn, and I went to the park in Knoxville. We forgot our camera, so we had to take some with my phone. Here's the best we could do. I love taking pictures of Ashlyn when she's not expecting it. She just turned 3 last month March 16th, and she is a handful. We cannot complain a bit about this little girl, she has her flaws, but God has blessed us with such a sweet "Youngin'" I have the great opportunity to pray with her everynight, and ask the Lord to bless her, and save her as a young girl. I cannot wait to see what God has in store for her.

I want to update you on Ashlyn. You can see below some of here pictures, some of you may actually see her from time to time, but you can't see her personality.

She has so much of her mom and me in her.

Lori has given her, her looks, mood swings, and a tender heart. She's given her, a loner type attitude at times, and she has her mommy's love.

I on the other hand have given her some things too. A temper, short term memory (selective- may be a better word), eyes, laugh and attitude. She also has my ability to aggravate like no other. She gets her sense of humor from me too. She loves to laugh, and to be silly.

One other thing that Lori has passed along is, her inability to watch where she's going. Let me explain, Ashlyn was walking toward the car a few weeks ago and walked right into one of our Tiki torches. She stumbled back and said, "I hit it, Big". I heard her hit it and looked up and seen the torch swaying from the impact. I just looked at Lori and said some thing like, She is her mother's daughter.

She is so fun to be around, her personality is almost contagious, she can make you so upset, and in the next moment make you laugh til it hurts. That's my babydoll.

Well so long for now, but I'll be back.

Hey everyone! I just wanted to write and tell you that Ashlyn called me Daddy-o tonight. Lori is not feeling well, and hasn't for a week or more now. I really wish she could feel better.

We have so many things going on right now, it hard when one of us get sick to get better quickly. It seems like it takes weeks to get over something.

We're still going strong (as we can) though. Hopefully I can get Lori to write soon.

Where have I been?

What in the world have we been doing for so long? Well, I've been working, Pastoring, working, being a husband, working, being a Father, Pastoring, Working, and ...Working.

Lori has been working as well.

Ashlyn (no, she's not been working, but) she HAS been growing! In two weeks, she'll be 2 years old. I can hardly believe it.

Lori and I have been praying about having another baby, but have decided to waitfor a few more months, maybe this August (our anniversary) but, we're going to wait on the Lord.

Well, Ashlyn has a mouth full of teeth, she's been waking for sometime, she can sign a few words, and can say even more.

This past weekend we tried the potty. She did it. She pee-pee'd in the potty! I was so proud of her.
Then Monday night we tried the (take the bottle away from baby) thing again. This time we (i.e. Lori) stuck with it, and it has been 1 1/2 days since she's had her bottle. Whoo-Hoo!

Like I said, she's growing up. (sob, sob)

We went to Americus, GA for vacation. Light House Baptist Church has a Campmeeting every years and we were honored to be in the meeting with them.

Lance Carpenter has been a hero of mine since 1990 or 1991. I fell in Love with his Spirit. He's so humble. He is a talented song writer, singer, and musician. He wrote a song a few years back called "I have not forgotten" "The Inspirations" sing it now. It went #1 on the Southern Gospel charts in March. I hope I never lose this picture, I also hope and pray that Ashlyn will have the honor and opportunity to get to know Bro. Lance.

This was Monday Night. We ate Grilled Chicken and Ashlyn ate Mac & Chesse and English Peas

I had to give her a bad after she ate. If you look close you can see the soap suds on her mouth. She likes to stick her face in the suds.

A few weeks ago she finally climed into the shower. Lori caught her in the act.

She gave it up here. Her Mamaw T. bought her a "Dora" couch and she loves it. She doesn't like for daddy to lay on it though.

Here we are at the park in Knoxville. Lori had a meeting with the ladies at church so I took Ashlyn on a date. We (I) had a good time.

It's been a while

It’s been some time since I posted last.

Ashlyn is growing like a weed. She’s now almost 14 months old. She’s been walking since February, she’s say a few words like mom, dad, dog, me, dia(Lydia), eah(Leah), and nana (Tonya) She said Papaw yesterday (so her papaw says) and she got 8 teeth now and working on 9 & 10. Lori is doing great, still as beautiful as ever, if not more. We’ve just come back from Vacation in Americus, Ga and had a great time there. We got to spend a lot of time together which at home is very hard to do.

One thing that is evident about Ashlyn, she’s like me, she loves to aggravate. She picks on me all the time. I’ll ask her to come to me and she’ll walk or run all the way to me and turn to someone else. God really has blessed us with Ashlyn, we have tried to imagine or remember our lives without her, and we just CAN’T do it.

I’ll try not to stay gone for so long. See Ya

My baby doll is growing up so fast. Next Friday, February 16, she will be 11 months old. I can't believe it. She is going all over the house now. I have to keep all the doors shut to the other rooms now because she likes to sneak into them, especially the bathroom. My days are very busy now trying to keep up with her. She loves to mess in the kitchen drawers and get out the spatulas and she loves getting every dish cloth and towel out and spreads them all over the kitchen. She likes to help me put clothes in the washing machine, she'll hand them to me and I'll put them in. Well, I guess I'll go for now.

I don't have any pictures just now, but I do have some news!

Ashlyn now has four teeth, and we think she's working on another one on the right side bottom.
She's been walking a few steps here and there but never more than four or five at a time.

NOW, she's everywhere. Sunday night after church I asked her if she wanted to take a basth and she nodded her head yes then let go of the couch and ran over to me. I just stood there in shock, she hasn't stopped since. She all over the house, into everything, and will not slow down. When we try to hold her she cries wanting down, so we're very busy now.

Well I know its been a while and I'll try not to stay away for so long next time. Talk to you later.

I'm sad to say that after 8 healthy months, Ashlyn finally has her first cold (viral infection). She sounds so pitiful, but she is getting better. Praise the Lord.
Lori is now getting sick a little, but she is taking some medicine. So hopefully she'll be better soon too.

On Monday November 20, 2006 Ashlyn saw her first snow. It began to flurry early, then it started the snow pretty hard for an hour or so. Nothing lay on the ground but she stared out the front door for a long time just looking at the snow. This will be her first Thanksgiving and she’s leaving Friday with all the ladies to go shopping. Last year it snowed at our house the day after Thanksgiving, maybe it will again this year.

Well, its been a while since I wrote last. Ashlyn has TWO teeth now! The 2nd one is barely through but through none the less. I am putting a few pictures up. Take a gander and tell me she ain't "purdy"!
She been pulling up now for a little over a month and gets around pretty good by holding on to something. She'll probably be walking in a month or so!

Well, Ashlyn’s first tooth is through. We’ve noticed that it was very swollen and white for the past few days. This morning Lori checked it and sure enough it is through. “Her first Toofer”. Of course its barley visible but it’s there.

Morning everybody!

Well we had some excitement yesterday.

I got a call at work and heard a cry on the other end of the line. I asked what was wrong and I heard, “Ashlyn fell off the bed”, My heart sank, Lori kept saying in happened so fast, and apologizing to me. I tried calming her down before I could ask how Ashlyn was. I got her calm and explained that it wasn’t her fault and that she just needed to keep a watchful eye on her. Ashlyn was playing right beside Lori on our bed, Lori put her head down the play “Peek a boo” and in that short period, Ashlyn lunged off the bed. Lori was panicked, but picked Ashlyn up, she was laying face down, (breathing and crying) She has no marks on her body anywhere, and she’s acting normal, all of her limbs are working just fine.

Scared both of us nearly to death, her more than me because she was there, but everyone is okay now. We’re still watching Ashlyn just to be sure there’s no effects of the fall.

Hey everyone. Its been a while since I updated. I don’t have a lot of news, but I do have some important news.

Ashlyn is almost Crawling. She scoots around on her stomach using her head, hands and big toes to get around. I have some pictures but I haven’t had time to post them. I’ll try to do that this weekend. Lori’s sister is getting married Saturday so I may post a picture of that as well. See you later.

A lady at work bought this dress and this passed Sunday we put it on and it fit perfectly.
Ashlyn's "Tummy Time" she doesn't like it much but this is a rare occasion that she enjoys it.

I love this picture. She has such a contagious smile. Lori or myself can walk into a room and start talking to her and her whole face is nothing but smile & her eyes just sparkle.

A Long Week-End

Praise the Lord for national holidays. I needed a day off. Lori had a friend of ours come and stay the weekend with us. Heather Roark from Morristown. She stayed Saturday, Sunday, and most of Monday with us. we had a cookout at home and all of our family came over and had great time. Another couple and thier two kids from church came over as well. I worked like a dog to get everything ready before people got there yesterday. I had to change clothes three time because I had sweat through two sets of clothes, and got poison ivy all over one set. All in all we had a great day. My sister (Valarie) came over after work and played with Ashlyn and got her to laugh again. It was so cool to here her laugh. She hasn't really laughed since her Mamaw got her to about three weeks ago. Well, that's about it for now. Until next time.

Lori called me yesterday and said she had something I needed to hear.
She put the phone down and I heard it. It was Ashlyn laughing OUT LOUD! It was awesome, her Mamaw (Cindy) came over for lunch and had her laughing so hard. I cried, I'll admit it. You know what, I watched the video when I got home and yep, I cried again. But it was awesome.

Well... I'm back. we got back from vacation last Monday morning @ 2:20 a.m. Over 1700 miles and God showed Himself to be faithfull once again. I have pictures of my hometown(Palatka, Fl) and and the baby there, and in Americus, Ga, and in Dahlonega, Ga. I want to post those pictures but I'm still recovering from driving so much, I'm tired of sitting. I wish I could stand and type. Maybe tonight I can post a few.

She smiled at me. Sunday at church I was holding her and she wasn't "passing gas" or anything and she smiled at her daddy(ME)!!! It was great. I have to take time to update the other website and post more pictures. I wish everyone could see my baby, she is so beautiful. Last night she was really stuffy and had Lori and I scared that she was getting sick but this morning she was fine. Thank the Lord for that.

Well, its been three nights at home and may I say that they have been rough. We' are both thankful to our family for their support. Lori's mom; Cindy came in the middle of the night Saturday to help console Lori and the baby, (I couldn't do it). My mom; Kay came over Sunday and stayed while Lori and I slept for a few hours. Cindy stayed Sunday & Monday Night to help with the baby. It's really strange, we can help console the baby, Lori can feed, and put her to sleep during the day but about 9:00 she starts getting restless. We are trying a few different things and I guess we'll learn as we go and glean from the advice freinds and family give us. If you have any advice about babies that would be very welcome. Thanks For you responses, your advice, and all of your prayers.

Well, March 11th has come and gone and STILL no baby. I know parents go through this all the time but its wearing me out waiting. I told Lori if she doesn't come by Wednesday I'm asking for a refund. I'll let you as soon as something happens. I may also to a audio post at some point too.

I have to talk about me for a little bit then I'll fill you in on my Beautiful Wife.
I left work yesterday feeling very bad. I had what seemed like a migraine. If that wasn't bad enough I got nausiated. I went home and got in bed for a few hours and felt better in the stomach but still had a headache. Lori fixed supper and we ate and I got sick again. I had a very bad chill so I got in bed again and slept it all off I guess, I feel fine this morning.

Now Lori. Since Saturday she's been fine. I few small contractions here and there. She's going to water therapy with her mamaw today and then if all goes well this evening we will walk some. We go to the doctor Wednsday and we're praying that there is some dilation so they can induce.

Hello everyone. We are still hanging on, well Ashlyn is anyway. Lori had a few contractions last night for about an hour but they eased off. We were really hoping and praying that she’d deliver last night or today. If nothing happens before Wednesday we’ll go to the Doctor again to see if there’s any dilation and if so we’ll opt for inducing. Pray for Lori she’s having a lot of pressure and just basically worn out right now. I know all of you parents that are reading this are saying “You think you’re wore out now, just wait, it’ll get worse…” We know that and are expecting it, but at least then we’ll have a reason to be wore out. Thanks for praying and we’ll let you know as soon as something happens.

A Whole lot of Waiting!

Here we go... you guessed it we have to hurry up and wait. God's blessed us in so many ways. Lori has not been sick much, she's stayed fairly active, thankfully she's not had any cravings like pickles and jalepeno ice cream, cigarette ashes, cotton balls, dirt, dryer lint, or anything else for that matter. Saturday night was the strangest of the whole pregnancy, I couldn't sleep, and Lori was up throughout the night so at 3:45 a.m. we were sitting on the side of the bed talking and drinking chocolate milk.

We are so excited about the new little baby God has blessed us with, we can hardly wait until we can see her face. I had a breakdown Saturday night, i pictured Ashlyn with chubby legs and cheek, pale skin, and the most beautiful red hair. I just bawled, (I'm a big baby). If you know me I do not want a red headed baby, but if her hair is like it was in my mind, I'll be okay.

God IS Good. Thank you Lord for a healthy Wife and a Healthy baby so far.

We went to the doctor for the last two week interval. Now its every week! (By every week I mean, three more times, yes three more times!!!) We have 3 weeks and 5 more days until the due date. By the look of my glowing wife, she may deliver a little early. She is so good, she hasn't complained at all until here recently, the swelling is getting to her, so we're taking it easy for the next couple of weeks, and praying that God gives her strength to make it a few more weeks.
Our church gave us a diaper/wipe shower a few weeks ago which was very needful, we got so many of each, but I'm sure we'll run out in a month or so. Two weeks ago her family and friends gave her a shower and good gracious we got a bunch of stuff. We have a few things in two or three different sizes that we really like so we'll keep all of them. God has really blessed us so much with so many friends and family. I'm told that my work is going to give us another shower at the end of this month, so that will be more things we can use. One of the Salesmen at work gave us and another couple a half case of wipes, (I love to smell baby wipes). I'll try to keep you up-to-date, God bless you and take care.

Of the whole Room this picture of the shelf is my absolute favortie. You can't hardly see the aging on it, but it looks really good. The dress that the bear is wearing is one of Lori's baby dresses, she was VERY small. She still is actually.!

You can also see the bag right inside the door. Lori's aunt Tonya made that for her. It's a denim bag with all the collors of the room and Ashlyn's name printed on it.

It's about time

It’s about time, I’m back. I think in the last post I told you that I was close to being finished with the nursery. Well I completed on Christmas Eve. Lori and I worked hard on the touch up items and I think Ashlyn will LOVE it. I have attached some photos and I hope you like it as much as we do. My favorite is the shelf with the Bear on it. I love the aging. The bear is wearing one of Lori’s baby dresses.

Hello, this is Lori and this is my first time sharing my feelings on the blog. I can't tell you how excited I am about the baby. We have about 11 weeks to go and I can't wait. I'm ready to see what this little one inside me looks like. She moves around alot and her movements are starting to get harder and they kind of hurt a little, and I'm starting to feel little elbows hitting me. We are just about finished with her room and Jamie has done a great job on it. We have just a few minor things to finish up and we will be done. As the time passes by I'm getting more and more anxious to see my baby girl and hold her in my arms.

Just checking in. I'm at work and Lori's at Dollywood for work. She plays piano at Seymour Community Christian School. The Choir sings at Dollywood every year and tongihts the night. I hope she stays warm! Her and the baby will be shivering when they get home. All is well with both of them and I'm doing pretty good too.

Nursery

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you we're almost through with the nursery. We've painted and cut it all the walls, doors and accents, we are waiting on the crown molding and base board and a few other peices of wood. We'll paint them and we'll be through. I'll try to post some pictures when I finish.

Baby's Fine! Mommie?

December 2, 2005 Lori & I went to the Doctor. She had the Glucose test and that turned out just fine. She has gained a few more pounds and looks so cute in her maternity clothes. The doctor did say that she is Anemic (her iron is low). He asked her to be sure she starts her vitamins again and eat foods high in iron.
She is 26 weeks and 3 days along now and as beautiful as a spring day. I have noticed a lot about her, but the thing that sticks out the most is her laugh and the frequency of it. She laugh all of the time and sometimes at nothing at all. I love it. I love her. She's is my everything, by best friend, the Love of my Life, my wife.
